A LEISURE business which operates three five-star campsites is celebrating after being named the most dog-friendly in the UK.
WCF Leisure won the award for best Camping and Caravanning site at the 2025 DogFriendly Awards. The award was shared jointly by Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site, near Edinburgh, Longnor Wood Holiday Park, near Buxton, and Herding Hill Farm in Northumberland.
Voted for by the public, the DogFriendly Awards give dog owners the chance to recognise and reward dog-friendly locations and pet-related businesses.
Patrick Stewart, General Manager at WCF Leisure, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be recognised for our commitment to creating fantastic destinations for dog owners and their pets. The fact that this award is voted for by the public and shared jointly by WCF’s three sites makes it even more special.
“Our aim is to provide all guests with a five-star experience, including dogs.
“We take pride in going the extra mile by offering dog-friendly facilities such as a hot water dog wash area for muddy pups and a dedicated dog-walking area on site. As well as offering pet-friendly accommodation, up to two dogs can stay free of charge on our tent and touring pitches.
“It’s really important to us that people feel comfortable and relaxed bringing their pets on holiday with them so they can join in the fun too.”
The 14th DogFriendly Awards ceremony took place at the Kennel Club head office in London. Other categories included Best Pet Shop, Best Town, Best Days Out, Best Hotel and B&Bs, and Best Kennels and Home Boarding.
All three of WCF’s award-winning campsites offer a range of camping and glamping options from touring and tent pitches to luxury pods and lodges.
Longnor Wood is an adults-only campsite with featuring amenities such as a games room with a darts board, pool table and board games, and a gym equipped with a rowing machine, exercise bike and weights.
Both Drummohr and Herding Hill Farm are family-friendly campsites including themed wizard, adventure and fairy glamping pods at Drummhor and a petting farm at Herding Hill.
