Peter Stafford, Cartmell Shepherd’s Managing Director, said: “We pride ourselves on providing opportunities for our staff to develop their professional skills and capabilities, and creating a work environment which motivates and inspires people.

“The four newly promoted members of staff have shown great commitment to the profession and the highest levels of professionalism, integrity and respect to their clients, colleagues and associates, and we are delighted to be able to reward them with key positions within the firm.

“Their expertise and ongoing development will strengthen the services Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors provide, and we are excited about where the company can progress under the guidance of the promoted staff members.”

Rebecca started her career with Cartmell Shepherd 10 years ago, and her progress within the legal industry has been remarkable. Specialising in Dispute Resolution, she is a registered Contentious Trust and Probate Specialist with ACTAPS, the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Solicitors.

“My career at Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors has been interesting because no two days are ever the same, and it’s the wide variety of work that makes it so fascinating,” said Rebecca.

“I was delighted to be promoted to Senior Associate having only recently returned to work following maternity leave. I was concerned that I was effectively putting my career on hold for 12 months, but Cartmell Shepherd is very supportive of working parents, and my promotion is testament to this.

“The quality of training and professional development support you receive at Cartmell Shepherd is excellent. They also encourage a strong work life balance which has enabled me to pursue personal interests outside of work, such as recently joining the board of Trustees at Oak Tree Animals’ Charity.”

Selina also works in Dispute Resolution and has been promoted to the role of Associate Solicitor after qualifying as a Solicitor in 2021. She started her training contract with Cartmell Shepherd in 2019 and has continued to impress at the firm.

Jennifer joined Cartmell Shepherd in 2021 with 15 years of experience in Employment Law, and has recently been promoted to the role of Associate Solicitor.

Being appointed as Associate Probate Executive working as part of the Private Client team, and specialising in Wills, Probate and Inheritance, Sharon will continue to develop her knowledge of all areas of estates in her new position.

Cartmell Shepherd’s full range of legal services is available from all of its offices, delivered by its team of 32 solicitors. It is the only legal firm in Cumbria to be a member of the UK200Group, and offers specialist expertise to individuals and businesses across a range of sectors.
