Accountancy firm expands its team with brand new job roles

A leading accountancy firm has created five new roles as it expands its business in south Cumbria.

JF Hornby & Co is on the lookout for accounts specialists and trainee accountants to work from its main office base or from home.

The company has grown rapidly since the Covid-19 pandemic and now has more than 50 team members supporting upwards of 1,000 clients.

Managing Director Paul Hornby said: “This is an exciting time for our business as we continue to expand our services across the South Lakes and Furness area.

“Across almost 30 years of trading we have seen steady growth. Many of our clients have been with us from day one and we never take their business for granted.

“We now find ourselves in a position where we are looking to strengthen the team to ensure the levels of service that have become synonymous with the Hornby name can continue to develop.

“It’s so important that we have the right people, which is why we have launched an open recruitment drive, during which we hope to find the next members of the growing JF Hornby family.”

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, flexible working has been introduced, with members of the team able to work from the business’ Ulverston HQ or from home, depending on their role requirements.

Paul is recruiting Accounts Specialists, or Accountants in training who have two or more years of experience in preparing accounts for a variety of businesses.

He said: “No day is ever the same as our large and varied client base brings with it a host of requirements, challenges and, of course, job satisfaction.

“We invite all of our team members to stamp their own personality and authority onto the roles they carry out and I have seen many of them flourish over the years.”

The family run business specialises in accountancy, tax advice and support, consultancy, tax planning, corporate finance and payroll solutions.

The vacant roles attract 40 days of annual leave and a competitive salary matching the largest employers in the area.
