New podcast will offer light-hearted insight into financial planning

A NEW podcast that offers insight, advice and anecdotes about the world of money and financial planning is due to go live next week.

The pilot episode of the Financial Freedom podcast series will be launched at 9am on Wednesday August 17.

It covers in a friendly and accessible way the subject of financial freedom, what it actually is – and how it can be achieved.

The stars of the podcast series are the team from Rachael Bell Wealth Management along with a number of special guests.

Practice Principal Rachael, said: “The popularity of podcasts continues to increase and we felt that as a team, we could bring our personalities and insights to the studio and give listeners a different take on the world of financial planning.

“There’s a danger that pods about this subject can be really dry, but we’ve tried our very best to keep things light-hearted, whilst offering some useful insights and practical tips that hopefully our listeners will take away as food for thought.

“We’ve been really fortunate to secure some high-profile guests and have had some excellent feedback from trusted associates who we have shared our pilot episode with. A lot of hard work has gone into getting this far and we can’t wait for the pilot to go live and to get the full series up and running.”

A host of topics will be explored over the 12-episode first season of the Financial Freedom Podcast, with everything from pensions and investments to the environment and advice for younger people on the agenda.

Each episode comes with a myth buster which seeks to take a commonly held belief – for example, ‘I need to be rich to use a financial adviser’ – and gives an insight into the reality.

Rachael is joined at various points by colleagues – financial adviser Abigail O’Brien and  Client Experience Director Pam Brown – and a series of special guests.

BBC journalist Hope Bolger was among a small group of individuals to be given early access to the pilot episode along with a number of early episodes of the season.

She said: “I loved the way that the personalities of everybody shone through. The podcast was such an easy listen, and I was surprised by how much I had learned by the end.

“Don’t be fooled by the subject matter – financial planning means so many different things to different people and I’m sure that – if the first few episodes are anything to go by – there will be something of interest or relevance to everyone across the whole season.”
